Repositionable stencil adhesive. Used to temporarily hold stencils in position.
Apply adhesive to the the back of the stencil and allow it to dry for a short time before use. The adhesive coating will remain tacky, holding the stencil firmly in place and also allowing easy removal and repositioning as required.
Contents: 82ml.
Instructions
Place the stencil on a suitable smooth flat surface with the back of the stencil facing upwards ready to apply the stencil adhesive. The adhesive may be difficult to remove from the surface so we recommend using a piece of scrap material.
Dispense a small amount of adhesive onto the surface. Use a small piece of sponge to spread the adhesive evenly over the back of the stencil using a dabbing motion. Care should be taken to ensure that the stencil does not move and adhesive is not transferred to the front face of the stencil.
Wait until the adhesive is touch-dry before using the stencil.
The stencil adhesive should remain tacky for some time allowing stencils to be re-used multiple times. When it is no longer tacky enough to hold the stencil in position effectively more adhesive should be applied.
Cleaning
This adhesive can be removed from stencils using white spirit or suitable specialist glue removal solvents. After cleaning stencils with solvent we recommend washing them is soapy water to remove any residue before re-applying stencil adhesive.
Common Problems & Solutions
Stencil not sticking to surface or material bleeding under stencil during application.
This can usually be solved by applying more adhesive to the stencil. Surfaces should be smooth, sound and free from any contamination (grease, oil, dust or wax). The working environment should be normal room temperature.
Stencil sticking too strongly to surface or damaging surface
This is not usually a problem, but the stencil adhesive may stick to some surface materials more strongly than others so we recommend testing first. Also this can can result from an excessive amount of adhesive build-up on the stencil. Clening off the adhesive and re-applying a small amount should solve this. A small amount of water can be mixed with the adhesive if necessary to reduce its tackiness.
Stencil adhesive leaving residue on surface
This may be due to not allowing sufficient time for the stencil adhesive to dry on the stencil surface before use. Ensure that the adhesive is touch-dry before use. If there is a build-up of adhesive on the stencil this may peel off and transfer to the surface in which case the stencil should be cleaned thoroughly and fresh adhesive applied.
